Childbloom Student Performance Groups

Click Here for a recording of the Bella Corda Quartet playing a new piece "Techno" from this year's Missoula First Night Performance.

The Missoula Bella Corda Guitar Quartet, made up of teenage Childbloom Guitar Program students Duggan Backhouse-Prentiss, Arthur Befumo, and sisters Jaymi and Jenna Wevers, play a dynamic mixture of classical, jazz, and world music. The group moves smoothly from Bach to Bossa Nova, playing beautiful and complex instrumental arrangements of both modern and classical music with a sensitivity, confidence, and nuanced technique that is surprising for a group of such young musicians. The quartet members are all students at the Missoula Childbloom Guitar Program, and have been studying guitar individually and in ensemble for the last 6 years with Program Director and Instructor Nathan Zavalney.
A Childbloom Guitar Quartet performance spans the globe and swims the depths of musical history. Their repertoire includes arrangements of Afro-Pop, Flamenco, 13th-19th century classical and folk music, swing-era jazz, complex Middle Eastern melodies, and Brazillian Bossa Nova. The group has performed on Montana Public Radio, at Out To Lunch, the Big Sky Film Festival, Kidapalooza, Kid's Fest, the River City Roots Festival, the Missoula Art Museum, benefit events for Clark Fork school and several other non-profit organizations, along with performances at the Clark Fork River Market and First Friday events.

The quartet is currently working on CD project of their current repertoire/
